A full refrigeration system for fruit processing and conservation, mainly for kiwifruit processing and conservation. It is one of the latest projects developed by Stefani, an international leader in the cooling and refrigeration industry.
As a matter of fact, Agroex Chile SA, a South American company that produces and distributes kiwis in Chile and abroad, has chosen Refricentro and Stefani to manufacture its new refrigeration system located in Bulnes, Bío Bío region, in south-central Chile. This system will be used for processing and temporarily storing kiwis.
The refrigeration system is particularly complex and includes several sections- pre-cooling chambers, cold storage rooms, areas adequately refrigerated for fruit processing and fruit dispatch.
Once picked, kiwis are transported inside bins to the Agroex Chile facilities. Afterwards, they undergo a pre-cooling process at 2 °C in order to then be stored at this temperature in the cold-storage rooms fitted with the air coolers supplied by Stefani, which designs and manufactures special cooler units to meet the specific requirements of the fruit sector.
In specific processing areas, kiwis are cleaned, measured, selected and packaged into cardboard boxes and pallets; a controlled temperature is kept at all times so that kiwis can be taken to the dispatch area afterwards.
Here, produce stays inside refrigerated chambers at around 0/1 °C before being loaded onto lorries.
For this fruit processing and conservation system, Stefani has employed 10 SHIP-series industrial evaporators and 6 SCNS and SCS table-type condensers and, in particular:
2 SHIP 063/2 H6 Evaporators
2 SCS 080/3 A 6 DH Condensers
4 SHIP 056 /3 E 8 Evaporators
2 SCS 080/3 A 6 DH Condensers
3 SHIP 056/2 G6 Evaporators
1 SHIP 056/3 E 6 Evaporator
1 SHIP 050/3 G 6 Evaporator
